Volunteering

People who freely give their time, energy and commitment are vital to the work we do across Lancashire.

Volunteers help us deliver our life changing services across Lancashire. From raising money at our fundraising events to delivering our projects in schools, there are many opportunities to get involved.

I choose to volunteer for Lancashire Mind because it’s my local charity and I believe in their vision. I am very proud to volunteer and want to continue for as long as I can. I do everything from research to stock counting to typing up notes and inputting data. The best part of the role is the research into community groups and support groups. This is because I know I am helping people and bridging the gaps by building links with other charities and organisations for people who need it.

  • Since working at Lancashire Mind as a volunteer I feel useful... I haven't worked for two years because of ill health so it's good to be back, working with friendly, supportive colleagues. It's great to hear people in the office's laughing as I don't get to laugh very much. It enhances my sense of belonging at Lancashire Mind as they look after me and my welfare. I am a carer at home and it's great to know that I can talk to my Mentor, Saffi, if I feel overwhelmed with 'stuff'.

  • I am really enjoying myself volunteering for Lancashire Mind and would recommend it to everyone.

  • Volunteering has given me a sense of connection and belonging. It's a regular activity for a few hours a week and gets me out of the house. I love helping with the fundraising activities.
