How is Lancashire Mind funded?
Lancashire Mind is local, independent mental health charity funded through a mix of charitable trusts, public body grants and contracts, fundraising activities and sold services.

How do I apply for a job at Lancashire Mind?

What information must I provide in my application?
Applicants should detail how they meet the criteria in the person specification questions, using specific examples from previous roles, voluntary experience, or qualifications as evidence. Clear instructions on how to answer the questions are on the online application form. Please feel free to reach out to us through our chatbot if you have any questions!

Can I apply if I have no experience in mental health?
Relevant work or voluntary experience is beneficial but not always essential, an interest in and passion for improving mental health across Lancashire is also valuable!

Do I need a DBS (criminal record) check?
Most of our roles require a DBS check, with the level determined by the nature of the position. This will always be detailed in the job advert. Having a criminal record does not automatically bar applicants but must be disclosed during the recruitment process for safeguarding reasons.

Can adjustments be made for my disability or health condition?
Applicants who require adjustments or support during the recruitment process are encouraged to identify any needs in the application form. Lancashire Mind is part of the Disability Confident scheme and will discuss adjustments in confidence.

Will travel or evening/weekend work be required?
Some job roles involve travel across Lancashire or occasional evening/weekend work, though the Lancashire Mind work week is Monday-Friday. Any extra hours worked can usually be taken back as time off in lieu, and reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.

Can I get feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
Lancashire Mind is only able to provide feedback to candidates who are shortlisted for interview.

What happens after I submit my application?
Shortlisted candidates are contacted for interview. References are only requested for successful candidates, and all offers are subject to satisfactory references and, where relevant, DBS checks.
